Gro Baby Diaper Review & Giveaway

  at 10/19/2009
Updated:Congratulations to #182 FancyGirl! Thanks to everyone for entering this giveaway! Don't forget to check out the great sale going on right now at Mama Momo!

Thanks to Mama Momo: all things mom and baby, I had the opportunity to review a Gro Baby diaper. The Gro Baby diaper is a one size diaper that comes with a snap in soaker.

I think the idea of this diaper is awesome. It allows you to just remove the snap in insert (called a soaker) and use the outer cover for a few more changes. It's perfect for traveling because all you need to bring is an extra soaker.

This diaper does not leak. The soaker inside the diaper is so bulky and absorbent that it will contain a lot of stuff!. This does make the diaper a little bulkier, but I don't really care about that as long as there are no leaks! I also really love the sticky tabs that are not velcro! It acts like velcro and allows a quick changing and a perfect fit around the waist, but it doesn't fray like some velcro diapers do.

This diaper is meant to be a one size diaper. In comparison to other one size diapers that I have, or even size small or medium diapers that I have, this diaper is quite small. In fact, length wise, this diaper is even smaller than my other size small diapers. My son is 18 pounds and it's on the largest setting for him but it doesn't look like it's going to fit him much longer! It lays pretty low on his waist, and I'm afraid he will be grown out of it within a couple months! I wish it were a little bit bigger, or he was a little smaller so we could use it longer, because I really love this diaper!

Overall, I really love this diaper. I love the fact that it has velcro like features but isn't velcro. I love that the snap in soaker is easy and can stay attached while washing, and I love that it's super absorbent.

Mama Momo is having some great sales on her site right now! A ton of diapers are on sale for 10-25% off. Check out her blog for another 10% off code! Her button is on my sidebar- click on it any time!

I have many bumGenius diapers and love the idea of a snap in soaker as opposed to a pocket you have to stuff.

I've already got a couple GroBaby diapers & really like them. Don't be discouraged about how small they appear. The elastic in the legs stretches a LOT, I can actually put this diaper on my 35 lb four yr old, the rise is low, but if she still needed a diaper this is one of the only one sizes that would fit her.

I highly recommend trying the snap version...this sticky tabs do curl after a few months of use & get to be a pain...the Vanilla snap is FABULOUS!!!

I have one of these, but to make it really useful, I could use one more! You really need two shells to make this a good diaper bag diaper, just in case poop gets on a shell.

I want to try this diaper because it is so cute and fits babies so well when they are itty bitty.

If it helps, we actually own this diaper (but I want MORE :0 love them!). Our daughter is 25 lbs and i can still close it very tightly over her waist so that the tabs overlap. I, too, thought she'd outgrew it quickly but i think once kids get more mobile they start refitting into things again! So i'm hoping they'll fit your son for awhile.

I love how stretchy it is. My son is 26.5 lbs and it is still on the medium setting with no leaks or other issues. My initial reaction was that it was small too and we tried the largest setting but had a more snug fit on the medium.
I also love that I can use the shell with my g diaper inserts on the go! I know they have the bio soakers but I have a lot of g inserts left because I hated their system.

I do a lot of long days away with my baby. Packing diapers for 10 or 12 hours away from home can get bulky. I like the idea of being able to use just a couple of diapers and a lot of snap in inserts (or maybe even disposable inserts for traveling further afield). I'd LOVE to try this diaper! Plus, I think it's great that it's organic.
