Happy Baby: The Organic Guide to Baby's First 24 Months (Book Review & Giveaway)

  at 11/01/2009
Updated: There are two winners for this book giveaway! Winner #1 is #4- Mindy! Winner #2 is #18- Kristen. Congratulations!

Happy Baby: The Organic Guide the Baby's First 24 Months is a new book by Amy Marlow and Robert Sears. As you know, the Dr Sears Vaccine Book has really helped me make vaccination decisions for my son, so I was excited to read and review a new book by him!

This book is full of information on raising healthy children and being green. It covers a variety of topics from pregnancy nutrition, breastfeeding, baby's first food, nutrition for kids, safe products in the home, green products for kids and much more.

Here are some of my favorite topics that I personally enjoyed and learned the most from.
  • Toxins that enter breast milk through water, plastics in the kitchen, cleaning supplies and more
  • Safe and healthy ways to clean your home
  • Baby's first food. What nutrients are most important, what foods to try.
  • Recipes for babies and kids- all easy and healthy
  • Tips and information on cloth diapering and baby wipes
  • Safe and healthy toys and baby furniture
  • Safe plastics
This book has a lot of information. One of the things I like about it are charts in the book. This allows me to skim through parts if needed and glance quickly at the charts to get the information that I need! I learned a lot from this book and will definitely be referring back to many, many chapters!

As a bonus, there are also coupons in the back of the book for a free magazine, free trial of baby food, money off of diapers, and more! Be sure to check out Happy Baby Food for quality, healthy organic meals and products for babies and kids. It's also a great resource site. They make some organic puffs that I'm excited about!

Happy Baby is giving two of my readers a copy of their book, Happy Baby: The Organic Guide the Baby's First 24 Months.

Wow this book would be great to have!

Thank you for the link to the to the Happy Baby Foods! I am super excited about eh organic puffs! My little guys has decided in the last 6 weeks to reject any food...homemade or stor bought! He only wants to nurse and eat those little puffs! I don't want to make eating a power struggle but I don't like all the sugar in the Gerber Puffs! Excited to try these out!

This sounds like a great book and a great addition to any parent's library. I am due at the end of December but am already starting to get overwhelmed with all of the food choices out there.

Thank you so much for the giveaway! My son is 15 months old but a very picky eater so I love hearing what doctors have to say about feeding and nutrition. After I read it, I'd pass it on to my cousin who is due in December with her little girl. Ah, my ovaries are aching too! :)

Oh, I NEED this book. I feel like I am floundering in the world of introducing solids to my baby. I don't buy into the Gerber model, nor do I feel comfortable abandoning what my mother did altogether. This looks like a wonderful resource. Thank you!

Wow! This book sounds perfect! Hopefully I win it, otherwise I'm going to have to put it on my Christmas list!

I am curious abou this book. Want to read it because I am intrigued. I do think it's interesting how Dr. Sears now has a brand of baby food out there. Not sure how I feel about it. We'll see though (if I win).
