A lot of us are traveling this week to spend time with family and friends. I hope it's a relaxing and enjoyable week for all of you. Through all the hustle and last minute errands, don't forget to take joy in the simple things and take this time to really relax and be thankful for life's gifts. And if you want to have a few extra helpings of pie or gravy and turkey- go right ahead.
I'm really looking forward to relaxing at my mom's house and taking a break from cleaning and packing! I'm also hoping to get one last walk in around our beautiful neighborhood. I hope you know that the second Thanksgiving is over I'm going to be all over the Christmas topics. I'm gitty just thinking about it.
Here are a few Thanksgiving related activities you and your kids might enjoy!
- Write down things you are thankful for. I'm sure a lot of your kids, for a school activity or at home, write down what they are thankful for that year. Instead of throwing it away, keep it every year. How fun it would be to look back in 10 years and see all the things you were thankful for at age 3, 5 or 7!
- Check out one my recommend Thanksgiving books for children.
- Relax.
- Watch the movie A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving as a family. Let the kids stay up past their bedtime. Eat your 3rd serving of pie while doing so!
- Play games. Board games are great activities to do, especially when you're around a lot of family. My family always seems to play games when we get together for the Holiday's. What are your favorites?
- Is it raining? Try one of these activities!
- Decorate for Christmas. @cavy624 gets their Christmas tree on Thanksgiving day. How fun!
Speaking of that... when are you decorating for Christmas? Do you do it on Thanksgiving day, the day after, or weeks later? Please don't tell me you've been playing Christmas music in your house since September. Back on topic, what are your plans for this week? Are you traveling to see family or staying at home? Are you in charge of cooking? Is anyone flying to Alaska to like, I don't know, live there? Just wondering if that's a normal event or not.
Safe and happy travels to all!
(And to all a good night!)

I'm trying to hold 'em off until Friday! I may have to cave, though.
I'm holding off Christmas decorating until Friday (it's hard to wait, though!). Since we live overseas (hubby is military and we decided he should take Christmas leave instead of Thanksgiving leave) we are staying home and enjoying Thanksgiving in the Caribbean!
