Happy 1st Birthday Lucas

Wow.

I feel so blessed. I am so blessed. I can't even describe it. One year ago today, I became a mom.

Instead of writing a note to Lucas here on my blog, I'm choosing to write (the old fashion way- with a pen) in a journal for him. It's more important to me that he has something like that- something personal and on paper- that he will hopefully be able to look back and read when he's older.

I am glad I have this blog though, to keep track of memories and milestones. I started writing here just a couple months before he was born. I spent some time looking back through the year, and here are a few of my favorite post, along with pictures from each month! Unfortunately the rocking chair pictures only lasted a while...

• His (Our) Birth Story: the best day of my life and the best experience I could ask for. I loved my birth!
• 3 Months Old

• He found his feet! I think I took 100 pictures of him playing with his feet
• 6 Months Old & our attempt at a photo shoot.

• A video of him crawling for the first time- this made me cry!

• Then he learned to stand! He was so proud of himself.

• His Face: some great pictures I got during "nap time"
• 9 Months

• Being Mom: Lucas was a month old and I'm still in shock that God decided to give me a boy. The hardest and best thing there is.
• My Little Love is Growing: in overalls and growing so fast.
• Exhausted: Lucas is 6 months old and I am so sleep deprived.
• Heaven on Earth: I love sleeping with my baby. Some of my best memories are sleeping with him in bed.

Now I'm a weepy mess.

Happy birthday baby boy. I love you so much. You have accomplished so much this year, I am so proud of you. You make me the happiest mama in the world!!

His 12 month picture is a surprise. It will be revealed shortly!
