I love your blog! I have been struggling at times, myself, as a stay at home mom! But, like you said, WE ARE ROCKSTARS! So, a lot of times my husband makes dinner - he loves to cook, and I let him! I always say, 'You are the Best!' My 3 1/2 has picked up on this and tells me 'Mommy, you are the best!' when I make him a meal, or do something for him that he enjoys. This makes all of the negatives feelings I might be having just go away! So, teach your kids to say that to you! Us Moms are THE BEST!'

ROCK on ROCKSTARS!!!

We ARE rockstars, and it's awesome to be reminded. It can be so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and forget that what we do every day is truly hard work...OK, maybe WE don't forget, but everyone else does!

As a first-time SAHM with an almost-6mo (and a full-time step-son who is almost 11yo) I get so frustrated with my husband for not understanding.

Thanks for the vent. I felt like I was venting with you just reading.

and i totally sat on the sofa eating chips and knitting yesterday. the four babies figured out how to entertain themselves. and there was a mess. and my well-trained husband said, 'looks like you had a nice day.'

oh yes he did. because he knows who butters his bread.

Being a SAHM is the hardest challenge i have ever faced! I love it but man its hard. On thursdays on my blog i have "unleash the pink" its little dares to for us moms to do during the week to remind us that we are still sexy hot rockstar women hidden under that burp cloth!! Working or at home (or working at home) we are rockstars!! We manage careers (our own, our husbands, both), we manage the home (well manage to keep it from getting completely swallowed up by laundry), we manage the kids, the schedules, the appointments.

I have been lucky enough to have been on both sides...and there are pros and cons to each. Right now I am out of the house from 7:30am - 6:00pm...and I still have to manage to accomplish the things I would be doing if I didn't work...most days it sucks, but I don't have a choice right now.

Would I be a SAHM full time if I could, I think so, do I think it would be easier...no. Just a different sort of hard, a sort of hard that I could manage, and enjoy a little more I think.

But yes...you are right...we are all rockstars!!!

interesting post! love it though! SAHM's do have it hard. I am home with the kids in the morning til about 1:00, then work the rest of the day til 8 or 9. I HAVE stayed home with my kids for several days in a row... and i've been on maternity leave twice. not trying to debate, but i think sometimes SAHM's think working moms get a "break". while we get a break from the kids, we don't necessarily get a break from life either.

i'm rambling. anyway, it's hard....

I wish I FELT like a rock star!

But, yeah, my hubby gets what I've termed "the grim look" when he comes home from work and the same laundry that wasn't folded yesterday still went unfolded today and same for the dish pile, which has doubled in size. Hey, at least I manage to get dinner on the table (most nights!)

Here's the thing though. Even rockstars need a veg-out day, so when I didn't get called in to work today for the first time in about 2 weeks, we took advantage. My boys and I have been LAZY!!! We watched Star Wars, hung out in our PJs, did NO housework whatsoever, and snuggled.

It was awesome. Maybe I'll throw some flour in my face before the hubs gets home so it looks like I did something. ;)

I need to repeat this all day. Ive had a rough day and Im glad someone understands motherhood/life.

I work 40-50 hours a week and my husband still expects me to do ALL the housework. Boo to him! (Well he does work 14+ hour days, 6 days a week....he can still help though right?!)

Haha So today, after finally EXPLODING on my husband (k, exploding is an overstatement), I needed this post.

I am asked so often how I do it... work f/t, raise 2 kids, make sure hubby is happy, clean house, blog, craft, etc. I just do, people. I chose to have kids and learned to seriously multi-task - that's why I ROCK. Just like you ROCK, Samantha and everyone else here! :-)

After a particularily rough SAHM-day in our house my hubby came come, looked at the HUGE mess lurking around the living room, and had the audacity to ask me what I did all day. My response? Watched soap operas and ate bon bons (and of course worked on that blanket for Grandma!!).

It is a tough job and sometimes we make it even tougher by taking on alot of other projects. Thank you for reminding me that this is where I want to be and what I want to be doing!
